in all seriousness though, most of these how to draw manga/furries books are so bad even for beginners, so many better things to learn from out there

Especially now! When I was young, you'd see this sort of thing in the store and go "Oh wow, I need this" because the resources of today just weren't around. But now it's easy to network with skilled, passionate artists who are happy to point people toward GOOD learning material. It's wonderful

I was lucky enough to have a book like this that was actually good. It went into detail of proportions and then gave a lot of references.

There really is. Some of them really teach you REALLY bad advice on how to draw stuff and in my case, it took me YEARS to unlearn some of those concepts I had internalized. Especially when it came to body proportions.
