Is it weird that I'm not surprised Biden would "seriously weigh" this possibility? Because I see him as an empathetic, unselfish person who would take criticism to heart?

The issue isn't whether he's weighing it. The issue is why someone who claims to be an ally of his would tell the press that he's weighing it. You want to help, you don't say he's thinking of stepping down. You say "he's taking the criticism seriously, but he's 100% ready for the fight ahead."
