Some of it is that the US has to be the worst on every possible metric. Finding out that other countries have flaws as well gets them very angry.

Mostly I see this when people ask, “where can I move to that would have actual support and benefits available to me,” and then being shocked that the answer is, “unless you already have citizenship somewhere else, you just don’t have that option.”
