Honestly, I completely forgot that it’s nominally an adaptation. (Actually, not even nominally in the literal sense.) they’re just two different stories, in different media, that almost touch on the same subjects.

I would disagree rather strongly that they touch on the same subjects, at least none of the ones that matter i should give it a rewatch but I don't think i can do it sober and haven't been much for intoxicants lately
