My husband apparently had a rough time with Irish in school too (I mean... it'd be rough for any English speaker I think), and now I bug him with all my questions. But he's got a lot of it in there all the same. My bro-in-law says you can find Gaelige conversation evenings at pubs in Dublin now.

That's very cool. I tried to use Duolingo to relearn it, and got pretty far, but it's not the best way to learn. There's no context for the words so you don't understand the grammar and syntax. It just becomes rote repetition. Ironically, the BBC has a decent program online.
