The Hunter Biden trial is a top story everywhere today with, as far as I can tell, zero analysis of how a president permitting a federal prosecution of his own son to move forward undercuts Trump’s falsehoods about his own (non federal) trial.

Having worked in these exact settings I can say; the decisions about bookings are often far less complicated and ideological than it seems, and often just: "who is the most senior 'Big Name' sounding person who is available and willing to come on the show this morning".
