I know multiple tissues can be infected, for months. Whether brain inflammation resulting in systematic inflammation is less common, I doubt, given the large proportion of people diagnosed with Long Covid and so many people with similar symptoms who don't know (yet) they actually have it.

I'm just saying that from the primary infections there are different and independent routes to (a) blood & systemic infection, (b) brain infection, (c) pneumonia, (d) gastrointestinal infection. A patient could have 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 of these. They do not necessarily lead to each other.
