Art Sulzberger has committed the greatest sin in journalism- more people are talking about the publisher of the paper than what is in it. As the Indian newspaper legend Ramnath Goenka said "When the paper is in the news, it is bad. When the paper is the news, it is over."

Trying to imagine knowing who the publisher of the newspaper was even when I worked there, I knew we were on the third floor, and I knew we never went to the fourth floor, but that's about it, Sales and typesetting were below us, we went there, and occasionally saw the pressmen at work
