Way too many companies are making really really foolish decisions because they either are run by people way too deep into the culture war, or more likely, people who even more foolishly believe they can Musk their way to profit but that only works for one guy, and his companies are going broke so

One of the core pillars of capitalism is the constant pursuit of short-term gain with practically no thought given to long-term plans or long-term consequences. Upper managements are in the same category as young children that want to eat all of the Halloween candy in one sitting.
