A useful clue about something that’s going on is that the DUP pro-Brexit vote in NI has now also split. Of course NI really is on the pointy end of Brexit and the issues aren’t all the same. But still, that would support the idea that it’s at least partly a More Brexit vote.

That will apply for Allister’s TUV seat, but not for Lagan Valley, where Alliance got in and DUP likely hurt by Donaldson’s upcoming court case. And Swann’s win in South Antrim is also not a pro-Brexit vote as the UUP opposed Brexit in 2016 and have had a more nuanced stance on Windsor framework.

I'm very tired, so forgive me if this is misinformed or stupid, but isn't NI now majority Sinn Féin? And isn't that implicitly pro-EU (at least via reunification wishes)?
