I'm reading Tooze's book on the Nazi economy and it's striking how they had to forcibly import hundreds of thousands to millions of foreign workers (slaves) to keep up the economy, to say nothing of the foreigners they forcibly took up by conquest. Immigration is inevitable for a productive economy
