Fun Fact: “They“ as a singular third-person pronoun dates back to William and the Werewolf, which was written in 1201 CE. “You” didn’t come into common usage as a singular pronoun for another 400 years, and writers even opposed its use. “You“ is more of a neopronoun than “they” by comparison.
