Trump's plan to end the Ukraine war is to help Putin get what he wants. The consequences, most dramatically to Ukrainians, but also to the West and the world, would be immense. Good for Russia, good for anti-democracy forces, bad for everyone else. We're staring down an inflection point of history.

This should be a flashing red light for our national security folks about the stakes for Russia in this election. I imagine they’ll want to influence it as much as they can.

We sure are. Vicki Nuland spent years making it happen and now she’s quit because it’s an obvious catastrophe. Ukraine never had a prayer of victory as many knowledge people said at the outset, only to be drowned out by war hawks and propaganda.
