I literally had to ask a cashier at CVS to get body wash from a locked cabinet for me the other day??? Like that's less embarrassing but also baffling... at a certain point, why even have shelves if you're worried about ppl stealing body wash

I heard somewhere that the items most likely to be locked up are hygiene essentials because they aren’t permitted to be bought with food stamps. So they get shoplifted out of desperation. (I’m in Canada, where we give out $ instead, and our stores haven’t yet gone lockbox crazy like the US)
