This is part of the reason I love the furry fandom inspite of all of its issues. Everywhere else art is so heavily commodified and corporate-present that you can’t escape the prospect of “The Value.” In furry spaces though, art is just a pure form of self expression.

We make and sell things not because we’re trying to generate value and build capital, but because paying for art lets artists pay their bills and have more time to make more art. It’s a space that is untouched by the greed and desire to commodify everything and everybody.
