The reason people don’t vote third party in the US is because every person saying “vote third party” has a completely unique candidate they are backing and there is absolutely no cohesion among third party voting efforts, and it makes it feel like a third party vote is a wasted vote, because it is.

Get 10 people on social media screaming “THE REASON THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES ARE NON VIABLE IS BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU KEEP SAYING THEY ARE!!!!” and then you ask them “okay which candidate do I vote for?” and then you get 10 different conflicting answers.
