He's trying to fit the two ideas in his head that he's a Special Boy With A Big Boy Job and that the line between constituents who tolerate him Vs those who loathe him is currently 500 people, and he can't understand why they don't like him.

Fun fact: when Wesley won the constituency from the Tories in 2015 he had a 500ish majority and his safest results came under Corbyn at 9k and 5k, so this result is actually him returning to the mean. His inflated ego means he thinks those Corbyn era majorities were to do with him, lol.
