I would soak the cranberries in a sealed whisky container overnight and put the soaked cranberries in a separate bowl to add to the stuffing when eating. Even stronger flavour, adding soaked cranberries to stuffing, then baking. Note, not everyone can have the alcohol for all kinds of reasons.
