There's a very specific personal vulnerability there that I'm surprised hasn't come up much on the right, but my sense is that doubt here is more about, uh, demographic concerns that haven't really been fleshed out or justified explicitly. Could be wrong.
it comes up on the Right *every day*. They don't have to say she's Black and a woman, they just say "if he dies it's Kamala Harris."
That's not because she giggles a lot. Unless you mean a different vulnerability I don't know about.
Oh, that’s DEFINITELY what they mean. I had this talk with Midwestern family in 2020 at a point in the primary when I felt she was pretty formidable & it was “no one’s going to vote for a…you know…who’s…you know…”
Part of my view on the 'demographic' concerns:
WI 2022, Tony Evers gets 1,358,774 votes. His Lt Gov same day gets 1,310,467 votes for Sen seat.
Of course they are different offices & different opponents. But more than 48,000 Wisconsinites ticket-split btwn known white Dem and known black Den. 🤷♂️
There's also a factor of Dem voters constantly triangulating against an imagined swing voter who might be scared of by XYZ. Not discounting that this can't *also* be people projecting their own amount of racism and/or misogyny, that said plenty of Dems did this playing themselves with Bernie as well
Every person I know who has worked with her office/staff has horror stories about her shortcomings wrt to executive leadership.
I don't like the way she chafes at/treats basic accountability as a disrespect, as evidenced in her interactions with Astead.
This is very valid and true, but if the choice is between her a guy who cannot reliably complete sentences without a teleprompter...I dunno, man. bsky.app/profile/lewm...
