When I first saw news that Gavin Newsom was going to the White House tomorrow I assumed it was a long-planned thing. But this is like an emergency meeting demanded by Dem governors.

Does this imply that Dem governors were surprised by Biden’s debate performance? (I’m genuinely posing that question to any and all). Because that seems almost as damning as if they *weren’t.* Maybe I’m misprizing the knowledge and connection held by governors?
