One beautiful aspect of my new house is that there's a certain time of day when sunlight filters down through the skylight to majestically illuminate a traveling stretch of the floor with a shining glow of "here's where you didn't vacuum very well."

I use to live in Vegas and the porthole of the front door would do a whole Raiders of the lost arc beam of light that would hit me right in the eye.
