When I lived in the mountains, it was so calming to see that the forest just did its thing every year. Even when there was a literal fire twenty miles away, the wild berries ripened and the trees stood and the mushrooms sprouted and then went away. Even then.

Seriously. I genuinely believe everyone should grow a thing in whatever space they have, a windowsill, patio, whatever. And also have a small grumpy pet, if able. You need daily evidence that trashfire humans aren't the only way to exist on this planet.
