None of them. The apostles Matthew and John were not the evangelists Matthew and J. either.

Shows what I know. I wasn't sure about John, but I was fairly confident about Matthew. Boy, are my Jesuit teachers going to be disappointed in me.

Matthew the Apostle (Saint Matthew) (Koine Greek: Ματθαῖος) is named in the New Testament as one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. According to Christian traditions, he was also one of the four Evangelists as author of the Gospel of Matthew, and thus is also known as Matthew the Evangelist.
