This is also a good opportunity to mention that at this point I think it makes sense to do ID theft prevention as a default. Between more involved scams going on and never ending data breaches it feels more like a "when" then "if". Best resource I found:

I don't do everything in the post, it's probably overkill unless you're actively being targeted. But I do everything that doesn't require me to mail stuff in and that can be easily disabled or worked around (like using the IRS pin code when filing taxes).
