If your area got a new Labour MP then it is your duty to email them and say that you are happy the Tories are out but that transphobia should have no place in the party.
Make Starmer gently walk back his support for Rowling's position!
Ooh, thank you for this reminder. I was actually in contact with my now MP before the election, about getting a proxy vote sorted (he did reply, but a long time after I'd sorted it myself) so I must follow up on that. Transphobia has no place in the Labour Party, or indeed in the UK
This is a good idea. My new MP replaced Miriam Cates, one of the vilest and most openly transphobic members of the last parliament, so it would be good for her to put some distance between herself and her predecessor.
I wrote to what was at the time the candidate, and is now my MP, twice to say I couldn't vote for him due to the party stance on trans issues. I got no response either time. But I will continue to write.
Why only new Labour MPs? Because they are going to be a new voice and if enough of them say it then we might see change happen where existing MPs might have already said their piece.
