Americans never said "sness" to refer to the SNES. Not in any of its marketing, ads, or anyone playing it. We'd call it "Super Nintendo" or "Super NES" when talking, and only used the "SNES" designation in writing. Not the case in PAL nations where they were "Sness"ing all over the place.

I agree with the first part of your statement, but as to the second part, that's exactly what I do call the mini consoles!
