It's interesting to think that any random person is better equipped to deal with shitty situations with no good options, only bad options, far better than literally every single powerful person.

I think a lot of the anxiety and frantic fanfictioning going on, is well off people experiencing a no-win situation with only bad options, for the first time. Everyone else is like, yeah man that's how it's been my whole damn life. Sucks, doesn't it.

I think there is a real counterpoint to be made here. I think the average person may fall into the trap of "what can we do that's the best for everyone". Attempt the rescue and you wind up in a fight you can't win, do you try to save them or do you warp out? That initiates the scenario. 1/2
