Right yes that's what I want. Isn't that the point? There's a new private channel for each thread, and you can either read it or mute it depending on whether it's relevant. And you can even mute it, and then come back later and look at it if you think you might need something.

If you mute it you run the risk of missing something important. Hell, even turning off notifications creates the risk of missing something important. I've got one multi-team project at work that has, no joke, 5 simultaneously active channels.

The reality is very, very different. My work slack currently has 234,891 non archived channels. It’s shockingly easy to miss things when you’re running Slack at scale or when a channel has heavy volume (Like 500+ engineers all posting at once)
