This. Cases that turn on statutory interpretation rather than constitutional grounds are, in theory, easily overturned by amending the Statute. The problem isn't that Congress can't do it; it's that Congress won't.

Passing a law has far too many veto points, so on some level congress “can’t” without a trifecta. This is part of why the Supreme Court has so much power. Only they can make policy decisions that can’t easily be overturned. The American Constitution (plus the filibuster) is really bad.

A favorite of right wing judges is to drop in a line like “if congress thinks we are wrong, it is free to pass a statute correcting us” knowing full well there’s effectively zero chance of that happening.

No, why would they when the Calvinball Court rules in favor of the Hannity Wing 99% of the time. The Senate can't muster 60 votes to overrule NewsCorp.
