I actually learned how to make cheese when I was about 7 or 8. My great-uncle had a cattle ranch in northern GA and I went there during the summers. He was eclectic as hell. He'd wake up sometimes and decide to do something crazy or odd like, "I want to learn how to raise bees." Then do it.

I am currently in the process of doing something similar. I have the land. Now I'm building the house. But before that, gotta clear the land and build the septic and well. A whole "if you want to eat bread, you must first create the universe" experience for me.
