That’s not what they’re saying at all. They’re saying “assume the person asking for anecdotes wants dirt to use against him, and choose your response accordingly”. Positive interactions can be spun badly if the original teller of the tale misspeaks slightly and someone has malice to enact.

If he has actually done something terrible, I hope it comes to light. I also hope he has not done anything terrible and doesn’t get sucked into a slander spin on something where he *actually* just stumbled and grabbed someone’s shoulder for balance unexpectedly or whatever.
