Actually, more likely, I didn't foresee that the war would affect Australian electricity prices, because I associated wars with oil price spikes, not gas/coal price spikes. As ever, the past is not always a reliable guide to the future...

Hydro price spikes were in the mix too, I think. Alison, did you ever see a good answer for why government-owned hydro corporations put their prices up at the same time everything else was going up? From memory hydro prices went up by more than even coal and gas.
