Weirdly, reform want PR and yet it would negatively effect their overall long term chances of getting in again.. Which makes me think something smells fishy about what they mean by "changing voting system"

"getting in" is a winner- takes-all construct. PR ends winner-takes-all politics.

In what way would PR negatively impact on Reform? Under STV or AMS, they’d currently have far more MPs. Under the latter system, their haul would be well north of 50 and possibly as high as 90. They just want fair votes. They’d stop talking about PR if they could win under FPTP, though.
