Key point to remember is Cincinnatus resigned *after he won and the threat was over*. This would be like him stepping aside while the Aequians were still marching.

Yep, the Cincinnatus thing would be, once the election's all settled, for him to say, Everybody welcome President Harris! I'd be okay with this, but I'm not sure how many other people would be.
