I had to look those up because I never heard of them. Turns out one is an Eastern Pond Hawk and the other a Halloween Pennant which I never see . Different names for different areas or research books I guess. Tons of pond hawks around this year.

The perils of common names! I'm using an Audubon guide to North American insects and spiders. Very old school. Had it for 30 years. I take it the the Halloween Pennant is the brown/yellow one.
