I disagree. I’m a woman and I’m allowed to vote and wear pants. My workday is 8 hours long. I’m allowed to live the way I live because of past activists. There’s a lot that is terrible, but we can’t deny the accomplishments of past activists.

I'm reminded of the speech Ursula K LeGuin made back in 2015... "We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words."

The power structures above us that seem so rigid are relatively new. But hey, even if they cannot be changed, we all die. Ultimately, saving a few lives while we are around is not a trivial thing, and there are so many opportunities to do so.
