SF phase. First a canonical great. A Canticle for Liebowitz. Post-apocalyptic. A very Catholic book working through his guilt and doubts, reworking events in his life. Miller is very careful not to indicate what you’re supposed to conclude. Also, lots of jokes.

Religiously-themed again. 99% sure that I’ve read before. Very good but not as great. Blish is a very fluid writer and clearly did a lot of research into Catholic doctrine before he wrote this. Beautiful world-building for Lithia. And a great is it/isn’t it ending.
