Youth. I took my O-levels under Callaghan. Simply not possible to hate Major if you were conscious for the Thatcher years. And he always comes over well in Chris Mullins’ diaries.

As a teenager in the Major years (and one studying a level politics) I've just got so little memory of anything he did. He seems to have left little to no cultural footprint. All I remember of his time was one sex scandal after another.
