I'm still looking around, trying to get a sense of how much of the murder spike starting 2020 was due to a critically overloaded health care system "upgrading" aggravated assaults to murders.

I don't think much. There was a general crime spike nationwide. Also, remember that the state of Florida has a higher murder rate than NYC alone.
