There were, for example, about 1.2 million people on the waiting list for immigration visas from Mexico and about 4,600 issued per month. At that rate, it would take 21 years to get through the current waiting list.

Yeah, my fam absolutely had the advantage of employment-based sponsorship, plus race and language privilege. When I finally went for citizenship (20 years later) my interview was a joke. I think I answered three questions? The swearing-in ceremony, tho, was a blast.
