there are countless examples of me buying things which i wouldn't have know of if not for recommendations i've gotten on pirate sites, and others buying things i've requested on sites when i've been too poor to buy them myself exposure works because pirates care about the things they're pirating

the vast majority of pirated content is corpo content. i agree with your point, but associating piracy with taking money from creatives rather than sticking it to corpos just unnecessarily spreads fud. chill
