I was reminded of this poem I published a decade ago. I wrote it after a 7-day walk through the desert from Mexico to Tucson in solidarity with migrants. It was inspired by saguaro cacti on a ridge that I thought looked like watching sentinels & a saguaro in Tucson riddled with bullet holes. #poetry
