I was also traumatized by (probably cheap) Turkish delight, but I’ve been assured that fresh Turkish delight is a billion times better. Now that my trauma has faded a bit, I believe “everyone likes their thing, and it’s ok if it’s different than what I like.” Also: “I’ll try anything once.”
