Yeah. I'm just saying that climate change is bad enough, no need to exaggerate. Arguing that we should consider the long-tail of low probability, high impact outcomes as Weitzman did is different than suggesting climate change will drive humans to extinction.
I don't think we can rule out extinction until atmospheric GHG concentrations stop rising. And FWIW Weitzman specifically includes extinction among his radically uncertain fat tails.
My point is not extinction of humankind but massive changes of societies. If damage cannot be repaired faster than it occurs, the situation might resemble the decline of the roman empire. Many cultural and technical advances lost, going through wars on critical resources like food and water.
