All of this comes from an essay by the late Howard Zinn from 2005 titled, “Don’t Despair about the Supreme Court” in which he reminds us that we only ever get free by organizing and fighting.

I agree with the general thrust of the remarks. But they are no longer as accurate as they were. The courts only shift a few degrees to or fro, until big money well organized packs the top court. Then it shifts around 179 degrees directly backwards.
