The human brain lies on purpose. If it lies then it is for a rational purpose. An LLM doesn't know what is truth and what is a lie. That is a fundamental property of its design. An intelligence that can not differentiate between fact and fantasy is not useful.

"If it lies then it is for a rational purpose." Rational to it, which isn't the same as being objectionably rational/correct. People can mislead themselves about observable reality and do so all the time.
