Countering this trend is South Africa - Once heavily segregated during Apartheid, South Africa became the 5th nation in the world to decriminalize same-sex marriage in 2006. Today, all forms of LGBTQ discrimination are illegal in the country. We learn history to avoid repeating its mistakes.
