One does have to wonder what his filmography would look like if he'd gone the "I like making weird documentaries and film collages" instead of "I'm the Star Wars auteur"; one suspects there would be hours of amazing work streaming on Criterion instead of the Prequel Trilogy streaming on Disney+.
