Recently I've been catching myself in what I assume is a pseudo-dream state when I'm trying to fall asleep. I'll just be thinking about something for a few minutes and then realize "Hey, wtf am I even thinking about, this doesn't make any sense at all" and then I fall asleep.

It's usually something technical or process-related, like how to build a triple-decker city bus out of Pop Tarts or going through the steps of a recipe for shrimp pudding with a side of steel washers.
