It’s true though. A new referendum within ten years would be (imo) premature because many would vote against out of spite. After that it takes 10+ years to join (we will have to accept the Euro this time so probably longer than 10 years). That’s 20 years, and he’s 61 already…
Labour should be taking steps towards more collaboration & better deals now.
Opinion polls reflect that the majority know this is harming our economy let alone the other negative effects.
We have to start somewhere & we have to start now.
Only option to shorten the timeframe would be to get petitions and lobbying to get a referendum asap. Five years to make it part of the dialogue for the next election would be good. But that would still put us at 15 to 20 years.
